The around 190 students who attended Imanskolan in Uppsala could not start school like everyone else on Tuesday.

This follows a decision from both the School Inspectorate and the administrative court.

One of those who is strongly critical of the decision is Jasmin's mother Madeleine Hedlund, who collected over 600 names in a petition to persuade the court to reconsider its decision.

Her five children have attended the school and the eldest daughter started 18 years ago.

She understands that it is a lot of work for the municipality and that they are not responsible for the school being closed.

- But who has thought of the children, I know.

That they end up the way they have now, I don't think it's humane, she says.

On Tuesday evening, those concerned were informed of where they had been given a place from Monday.

According to Madeleine Hedlund, many are dissatisfied with the places they have been given.

Gränby and Gottsunda schools

In recent days, there has been intensive work at Uppsala municipality to find new school places.

Schools in Gränby and Gottsunda/Valsätra can receive the most students.

- We have looked for places and done what we could, says Caroline Sedin at Uppsala Municipality, who is responsible for the relocation.

Why did it take so long that it wasn't ready for the start of the semester?

- Since the decision was appealed, we had to wait for information about it, which we received on Thursday last week.

Only then could we move on.

Now the schools also have time to prepare the reception.
