Large spread of infection in Jämtland county: "Not reached the peak yet"

It is mainly cases of seasonal flu and RS virus that have increased the most during the Christmas holidays.

The spread of covid-19 is more stable, but had an uptick just before Christmas.

At the same time, a lot of winter sickness is also circulating, but it has not burdened healthcare to the same extent.

Not climaxed

Northern Sweden has been a little ahead of the rest of the country when it comes to the spread of seasonal flu, but Lisa Fohlin doesn't think we've reached the peak yet.

- I think we have to be prepared for the peak to be a little further ahead for all these infections.

The risk is that we will see a continued increase in the spread of infection when people return to their jobs after the holidays.

"Think a little extra"

- I think you should be aware that there is a large spread of infection right now.

Make sure to vaccinate yourself according to the existing recommendations, and think a little extra if you are going to meet elderly and fragile people, says Lisa Fohlin.
