The incident almost turned tragic.

A 48-year-old man was given a one-year suspended prison sentence on Tuesday by the Quimper criminal court for acts of violence on the public highway.

On December 20, in Pouldreuzic, in the south of Finistère, a motorist was targeted by a middle finger led by a hitchhiker.

The story should have ended there, except the driver, who was driving with his 7-year-old son in the vehicle, decided to stop to demand an explanation.

It took him badly.

The tone quickly rose and a fight broke out, reports

The driver suffered serious neck injuries.

He was hospitalized with a deep gash in his throat requiring a total of eleven stitches.

Other injuries to the limbs are noted.

The attacker, who lives in Pouldreuzic, had used cocaine.

The type of weapon used in the brawl could not be determined.
