This is reported by TASS with reference to Ukrenergo.

“On January 11, electricity consumption in Ukraine increased due to a significant decrease in temperature in the east and in the center of the country.

As a result, the capacity deficit has increased,” the company said in a statement.

It is noted that round-the-clock consumption limits have been introduced in all areas to ensure a balance in the energy system.

“Already from 07:00 in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, the limits were critically exceeded, as a result of which emergency shutdowns were applied to maintain stable operation of the energy system,” Ukrenergo said.

Along with this, as the agency notes, the company "Sumyoblenergo" reported emergency shutdowns in the Sumy region.

Earlier it became known that nightly limits on electricity consumption were introduced in the Poltava region of Ukraine.
