In Kenya, the scourge of the tsetse fly

Kenyan herders are concerned about the rise in cases of Nagana affecting their livestock.

The disease is transmitted by the bite of a tsetse fly.

Each year, it kills approximately 3 million farm animals per year in sub-Saharan Africa and causes the loss of 4.5 billion euros on the continent.

In Kenya, it is present on 23% of the territory.

And despite the development of effective methods to get rid of them in humans, livestock are still very affected.

A report by Vivianne Wandera, Fred Ooko and Élodie Cousin.

The "blue sarcophagus" returned by the United States to Egypt

One of the largest sarcophagi of ancient Egypt was returned to Cairo in early January by the United States.

2,700 years old, it was on display at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

The antiquity had been stolen from the necropolis of Abu Sir, near the Egyptian capital.

Nicknamed the "Green Sarcophagus" due to the color of the face paint on the wood of the coffin, it is one of the largest wooden pharaonic sarcophagi ever discovered.

About three meters long, the cover alone weighs almost 500 kilos.
