• Events Tears and despair after the mysterious death of Fernando, the missing minor in Madrid: "If there is someone responsible, let them pay with the same coin"

  • Events They find the body of Fernando, one of the two missing minors in Madrid, in a landfill in Toledo

Ángel, 11, and his cousin Fernando, 17, lost track a month ago when they went together to a supermarket in Madrid and never returned home.

While Fernando's lifeless body was found in the Toledo landfill on December 15,

the National Police continues to search for Ángel in that same place among 10,000 tons of waste.

The first police hypothesis was that the children died accidentally and that they left voluntarily.

The autopsy

performed on the body of the 17-year-old boy concluded that he died of suffocation

and suggested the possibility that they had fallen asleep in a container in Toledo the night after he disappeared.

The relatives of Fernando and Ángel believe that they were ambushed and killed when they went to Toledo to see an old girlfriend of the older of the two cousins.

The relatives

have hired a private investigator to shore up some details of what happened

and their lawyer, Marcos García Montes, has filed a brief in court instructing the case asking for new proceedings and that several people be declared as protected witnesses, since he believes that they could have confidential information about the disappearance of both kids.

The Toledo house where Fernando's old girlfriend lived is sealed and the young woman's entire family has left their apartments for fear of reprisals.

Several audios are already circulating on social networks in which several people explain that the children were deceived and that there was a plan to end them.

In these recordings, specific people are even accused of being behind the crime of the two cousins

.

The National Police is investigating these calls and audios and points out that there are several open hypotheses.

In fact, it is not ruled out that the development of the investigations will change the course of the first inquiries.

The case is under summary secrecy and the family assures that the information it is receiving from the investigators is "quite opaque" or null.

They have also requested an urgent meeting with the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska,

to analyze the case of Ángel and the "certain lack of coordination" that, in their opinion, there is between the police forces and administrations involved.

The relatives, in addition, asked yesterday that the search for the minor be expanded by mountains, rivers, wells and houses in the province of Toledo and the number of troops be increased.

They have also demanded that the Toledo court handling the case transfer the investigation to the Special Brigade for Homicide, Disappeared Persons and Violent Crimes of the Madrid National Police.

“We are exhausted and without answers.

This is being very hard,

but we hope that Ángel is alive

, "Amparo, the mother of the 11-year-old boy, said yesterday with a very muffled voice.

The father, also named Ángel, insists that the children were killed and that it is impossible for them to get into a container.

"That is ruled out, I think they were killed and we hope this is not another Marta del Castillo case," he said.

Antonio, spokesman for the family, confirmed yesterday that

the private investigator they have hired will collaborate with the Police

and will be available to the investigators.

"We think that he can bring new details that have not been analyzed," he said.

Along the same lines, representatives of the Roma population, headed by the Spanish Roma Society, asked this past Monday that the search for little Angel be extended beyond the Toledo landfill, in a rally held in front of the Honduras school in the Villa de Vallecas, where Ángel studied, and

demanded that the Police investigate "thoroughly" the causes of the disappearance of both cousins, as well as the death of Fernando.
