The author of a chase which ended in an accident on March 24, 2021 was sentenced this Friday by the Bobigny Criminal Court (Seine-Saint-Denis).

He was sentenced to a year of house arrest under an electronic bracelet, reports

After running a red light in Saint-Denis, the 22-year-old driver refused to stop for a police check.

The chase ended at Porte de la Chapelle, in Paris, when the suspect's car hit a sidewalk and a low wall.

Already convicted of several traffic offenses

The driver and his four passengers were injured.

An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured, with a broken leg and head trauma.

The 22-year-old motorist did not have a driver's license.

He had already been convicted four times, including twice for traffic offenses without a license.

He had just fled that evening for fear of being caught in the act again.

His lawyer was satisfied with the sentence.
