A man suspected of several burglaries and scams was brought this Friday before the judicial court of Carpentras (Vaucluse).

In particular, he would have raged in several establishments in Orange, reports La Provence.

The 26-year-old suspect was arrested on January 4 after an investigation and prolonged surveillance of a suspicious vehicle.

The latter had also been the subject of a report because purchased using a stolen check.

Many crimes on his account

The investigation was opened following several burglaries at hotels and restaurants in Orange at the end of 2022. In police custody, the young suspect admitted to two burglaries at hotels in the city, including on Christmas night and New Year's Eve.

The investigation implicated him in six cases of stolen check scam between January and October 2022.

Already known to the police, the man was sentenced to 13 months in prison for previous acts for which he had not yet appeared in court.

He will soon be tried for the more recent burglaries and scams.
