The basis for the work to strengthen total defense and civil preparedness is that Gotland society should be able to survive for 90 days in the event of an attack where it is cut off from the mainland.
Vulnerabilities have therefore been identified and remedied, for example when it comes to electricity and fuel access.
They have also strengthened care and practiced being able to perform trauma care in places other than Visby hospital.
