Pape Alé Niang "

will probably have to stay in hospital for a few days to take stock before returning home

", says Maître Moussa Sarr, one of his lawyers, who says he is "

very relieved

".

The judge's decision goes hand in hand with "

the immediate end of his hunger strike

" according to his defense.

As during her first provisional release on December 14, she is subject to judicial control: the obligation to go once a week to the police station or the gendarmerie, the ban on leaving the territory, or even on to express on the file: it is with this reason that the judge had sent him back to prison on December 20.

The imprisonment of Pape Alé Niang

and his state of health have provoked indignation in the profession and civil society.

The CAP, Coordination of press associations, very mobilized, hailed a "

victory

", but for her, it is not "

the end of the story

".

She claims “

the cancellation of the charges

 ”.

The journalist is notably prosecuted for “

disclosure of military documents likely to harm national defense

” and “

dissemination of false news

”.
