Exactly two years ago there was a large amount of snow and the ice rink at Teg in Umeå was forced to remain closed until the roof was shoveled.
When the snow starts to fall in the winter, the snow is continuously measured and weighed.
This year, the ice rink fence has already been shoveled once and now the weekend's snow will also be removed.
Karin Isaksson is happy that the municipality managed to fix the properties that had a so-called risky construction.
A major overhaul was carried out after a roof collapse in Kiruna and several of Umeå municipality's properties had similar roof construction, which has been gradually remedied.
Despite the fact that a lot of snow has fallen in Umeå in recent days, Isaksson assesses that there is no emergency situation at any of the municipality's facilities.
- We have routines for how we measure, and then it is mainly the weight that is important and determines when we should start scooping, she says.
