The gendarmes of the highway platoon of Senlis (Oise) proceeded this Friday to the arrest and the placement in custody of a Belgian driver.

The latter had been checked at the wheel of a Flixbus coach at the Chamant toll (Oise) on the A1, specifies

A test revealed that he was driving under the influence of narcotics.

In total, five cars were searched by the police.

In addition to the Belgian driver, seven of the approximately 150 passengers had consumed narcotics.

Small quantities of drugs were also discovered in luggage by the dogs of the canine brigade, said a gendarme.

The 40-year-old driver had his driver's license suspended.

He will appear in court later.

Travelers who had boarded his vehicle had to be taken care of by Flixbus, the military said on their Facebook page on Monday.

Another bus came to pick them up.

A policeman explained that unlike the blood alcohol level, the possible use of narcotics by bus drivers could not be checked automatically at start-up.
