An 18-year-old young man was seriously injured on Monday during a violent altercation on Monday in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne).

The fight broke out around 2:30 p.m. outside a downtown restaurant.

The alert was quickly given after the discovery of the victim, stabbed in the street.

The assailant had already fled when the police and emergency services arrived.

An ongoing investigation

The victim was rushed to hospital.

His vital prognosis was still engaged on Monday evening, according to the Créteil prosecution.

The main suspect was arrested at the hospital while he was treating his own injuries, the seriousness of which is unknown.

The 22-year-old man was taken into custody.

Both the alleged attacker and the victim are already known to the police.

An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of this attack as well as its cause.

According to a source familiar with the matter, a “band phenomenon” has been ruled out for the moment.
