For some motorists, the weekend is a privileged time to wash and pamper their car.

This is what a 53-year-old resident of Lot did on Saturday noon.

Coming out of the car wash, shortly after 9 a.m., he stormed off.

But on the departmental road he took, in the town of Vignon-en-Quercy, he crossed paths with gendarmes from the Souillac motorized platoon who were carrying out a speed check.

The driver of the van was traveling at a speed of 121 km/h on a road limited to 50 km/h.

When the soldiers asked him why he was going so fast, he replied that he wanted to "dry his vehicle quickly", says the Lot gendarmerie on his Facebook page.

The man immediately had his driver's license revoked.
