• Events They find a mutilated corpse in Villanueva del Trabuco, in Malaga

The residents of Marbesa, a residential area between Elvira and Las Chapas, in Marbella, continue to be shocked after the news broke that a

decapitated corpse

had appeared on the beach next to Restaurant 200 and there are times, like this, when reality surpasses more than fiction.

For the moment, the identity of the victim is unknown, but it has been possible to specify that she is a young woman - between 30 and 40 years old - and

a thin complexion

- weighing approximately 45 kilos - who could have been dead for 24 to 36 hours.

It is also unknown where and when it could have been thrown into the water, although as EL MUNDO has learned, the first indications handled by the Civil Guard investigators suggest that it would not have remained many hours in the water before the sea returned it to the shore.

After the on- site

inspection

of the corpse and its subsequent removal, the body was transferred to the

Institute of Legal Medicine of Malaga

where the

autopsy

is expected to shed some light on who the victim was and what happened to him.

Although the fact that he appeared without a head, or hands, and therefore without fingerprints, or teeth, will make his identification considerably difficult.

On the other hand, it should be noted that although to date

there are no recent reports

of the disappearance of a woman whose characteristics match those of the person found in the water this Sunday in Marbella, one of the first steps to be taken by the agents is to check the files and records of

missing women

.

As for the cause of death and the reason for cutting off his head and hands, it is still early to draw conclusions, although the state in which the body was found -in addition to being mutilated, with the abdomen open- is reminiscent of that of the man who appeared in April in

Villanueva del Trabuco

(Málaga) -also without head or hands-.

Although no line of investigation is ruled out, including that related to some kind of

settling of scores

between drug traffickers, there does not seem to be any doubt that those who did it wanted to

prevent the identification

of the young woman found floating in the sea.

Miguel Caballero

is a waiter and has been working at 200 for about 10 years, a traditional food venue located on the beach and with impressive views of the coast, he was one of the first to see the body.

He was missing his head and hands and was literally split open.

What happened is still very recent and he cannot get the image out of his head, he has commented to this newspaper.

This Sunday Miguel was serving some customers who had sat down to eat on the terrace at one of the tables closest to the sea.

It wasn't too late - around five - and it was still light but since it was cool and airy, they had put up some curtains on the windows that they use, especially during the winter season.

One of the clients commented to him: "There is a person floating out there", but when Miguel directed his eyes to the water, at first, he could not see the body, so he turned to the client and asked him: "Are you sure? where? Because I don't see anything".

The client insisted and pointed him to the place, so he looked carefully in the direction she was indicating and indeed, there he was.

Between the foam and the seaweed he discovered a

naked body floating

in the water that the waves were pushing towards a rocky area of the beach.

At first he thought it was a doll but after looking closely he realized that no, "it was a person".

He quickly notified his colleagues and a group of customers that he was having an after-dinner meal at the premises and asked them to call 091. Some of them even thought of jumping into the water assuming it was drowning, but the emergency personnel on the phone, he advised them against doing so given the weather conditions this Sunday afternoon on the Costa del Sol.

The National Police sent a patrol car and confirmed the macabre discovery, although when the body was found in the water, the Civil Guard took over the investigation.
