The mayor of Paracuellos de Jarama,

Jorge Alberto Campos (Citizens)

, has reported to the Civil Guard that he received an anonymous letter at his home with two short-arm bullets inside.

The leader filed the complaint last Saturday when he noticed the presence of a sealed envelope in the mailbox of his home in this town, without any other additional message in the package, municipal sources have told Efe.

The alderman brought the facts to the attention of the municipal police and the Civil Guard, denouncing the incident at the Benemérita barracks, with which the origin is being investigated.

The Consistory adds that the mayor of Paracuellos has previously suffered death threats, such as in the summer of 2021, when he denounced having received an email with insults and intimidating phrases such as

"Only Hitler and you deserve to die"

or "You never deserved life or anything, for sure."

The mayor explained to Efe that he himself took the envelope on Saturday when he arrived with his family from a trip and verified that there were two bullets inside, for which he called the local Police and Civil Guard who asked him to put the envelope in a larger one "so as not to contaminate the samples".

The Police appeared at the home and confirmed that they were two short-arm cartridges, and then the mayor went to the Civil Guard headquarters to file the complaint and

"take the evidence directly

. "

The mayor welcomes the fact that they are going to investigate and try to identify who "has done this type of atrocity, because it is not a dish of good taste to find something like this at home", especially since "the family is involved".

He also recalled that in 2021 he received a "slightly intimidating" email, but points out that this time "a further step has been taken", because they are not "simple words behind a pseudonym".

However, he assures that "if what they are trying to do is intimidate him, they will not succeed", for which he promises to "continue working for the neighbors", trying to revalidate the mayoralty in the elections on May 28.

The Government delegate,

Mercedes González

, referred this Monday to this "absolutely reprehensible" incident, and condemned the fact that the mayor has been suffering threats and insults for two years, which is why he has "all his solidarity", while at the same time He has "control and security" by the Civil Guard, both for him and his family and those around him.

González has added that the criticism of the mayor began by addressing his municipal management, but has criticized that they have become threats, when political action must be addressed and limited "to politics, debate and criticism."
