Nebenzia called Western sanctions the main reason for the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Syria

Nebenzia noted that Western countries demonstrate their efforts aimed at providing humanitarian assistance to Syria, but bypass their "criminal unilateral sanctions" that harm ordinary people in Syria.

He added that "it is these sanctions that are the main factor in the degradation of the humanitarian situation in Syria."

In addition, Nebenzia noted, the West is trying to do everything to stop the process of normalizing the situation in the country.

Earlier, the UN Security Council unanimously decided to extend the mechanism for the cross-border delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria through Turkey until July 10.
