This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“This in no way undermines our internal legislative capacity to fight corruption,” he said.

Peskov recalled that Russia has developed "very, very tough" anti-corruption legislation.

“You know that the whole system is working, of course, it cannot be said that the problem has been eradicated ... But this is not camaraderie, but consistent long-term actions that will continue,” he concluded.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma a draft on the denunciation by Russia of the Convention on Criminal Liability for Corruption.
