Raphaël, Arthur and Alba: this is the top three of the most given first names in 2022 in Nantes maternities, according to data just transmitted by the Nantes civil status service.
Some 8,833 births (174 less than in 2021) were registered and 3,288 first names given.
Respectively chosen 60 and 54 times, Raphaël and Arthur were already part of the previous podium.
On the other hand, Alba made an unexpected entrance since she was not in the top 10 last year.
In detail, behind Raphaël and Arthur, Maël, Jules and Noah were the other most popular male first names among newborns in 2022. Then follow: Gabriel, Léon, Paul, Louis, Sacha, Léo and Lucas.
Among the little girls, Alba is therefore ahead of Louise and Adèle, two other first names who have been used to the podiums in previous years.
Still follow: Juliette, Rose, Jade, Alix, Romy, Ambre, Alma, Agathe and Olivia.
As for mixed first names, if they are less popular, they are still very present in the rankings, in particular Charlie and Camille.
Note that among the star first names of previous years, Clara, Alice, Romane, Nathan, Theo or even Mathis seem to be losing ground.
