Yemen.. Houthi militias are on the rise, and the government accuses them of thwarting peace efforts

The Yemeni government has renewed its accusation against the terrorist Houthi militia of putting obstacles in the way of efforts to expand and stabilize the armistice and cease-fire, while the militias continued their escalation on the battle fronts.

The official Saba news agency quoted Yemeni Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani as saying that the Houthi militia continues to put obstacles in the way of efforts to expand and stabilize the ceasefire truce, which was sponsored by the United Nations.

He pointed out that the militias did not implement any of their commitment within the framework of the UN armistice, including opening the main roads between the governorates, lifting the siege on Taiz, and allocating revenues from oil derivatives in the port of Hodeidah to pay the salaries of employees, and reached the stage of undermining the armistice and peace efforts by refusing to extend the armistice. In October 2022, it launched terrorist attacks on oil facilities and ports in Shabwa and Hadramout.

For his part, the Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, confirmed, during his meeting with the commander of the coalition forces in Aden, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Harbi, that the Houthi militia had broken all covenants and covenants and rejected peace, by launching terrorist attacks on vital installations and army sites, after refusing to extend the armistice.

The minister appreciated the generous and unlimited support of the brothers in the Arab coalition for Yemen and its armed forces, which are fighting the battle of a common destiny in confronting the militias.

The militias continued to raise their combat escalation on various fronts, and during the past few hours they launched attacks on army and resistance sites and civilian objects in several Yemeni regions.

On the western coast, military sources expected the Houthi militia to launch terrorist attacks and carry out piracy operations against international shipping in the Red Sea, noting that the size and quality of the reinforcements sent by the militia to Yemen's western coast portends this.

In Marib, the army and resistance forces thwarted Houthi attacks towards their positions in the southern sandy axis, the most violent of which focused on the "Al-Aarif" area in the Al-Juba desert, according to field sources, confirming the failure of all Houthi plans and attacks in the region and the infliction of heavy losses on its members.

In Taiz, today, Sunday, the militias renewed their shelling of army and resistance sites and residential areas on the northern front of the city, targeting civilian sites and neighborhoods in the "Air Defense and Zinouj Front" areas, prompting the forces to respond to them.

The sources confirmed the continuation of the operations of creating sites and sending combat reinforcements and various weapons by the Houthis, on the fronts around the city, in an indication of the start of a new escalation that the militia seeks to launch in the coming days.

In Abyan, the joint forces destroyed cannon positions and weapons that the Houthi militia pushed towards new sites on the Thurah front, located between Al-Bayda and Abyan.

Military sources stated that the forces stationed in Thara monitored Houthi movements in the right of the front, represented by the development of sites and the deployment of snipers and heavy weapons, where they were targeted and destroyed with high accuracy, and thwarting the Houthi plans to launch attacks towards the liberated areas in Abyan.

In Al-Dhalea, the joint and southern forces thwarted attacks and infiltration attempts by Houthi militia members towards their positions in the Murays front, north of the governorate, according to field sources, confirming that these attacks were confronted and the infiltration attempts that concentrated in Al-Qahrah and Al-Zila, north of the Murays front, were thwarted.
