Good evening,

There is another protest against the construction of the Riederwald tunnel

: the occupiers of the forest in Fechenheim, who are fighting against the construction of the motorway tunnel, which has been decided for decades, are about to be evicted.

The tunnel is to connect the 66 and 661 motorways in the east of Frankfurt.

By the end of next week, police could begin clearing the 6-acre area where activists have erected platforms and tree houses.

The activists know that this step is inevitably imminent, as do the approximately 500 demonstrators who tried again at the weekend to fight for their “Fechi”.

The demonstration, which many families had joined, moved in front of the DGB building on Saturday.

There were also five candidates for the mayor's office.

They followed the DGB's invitation to the New Year's reception.

Even if the demonstrators probably suspected that their protest action would hardly have any impact on the plans, they once again vented their anger.

Jump-start for creative people:

Sometimes a little push is needed.

Someone who tells you that the things you don't dare to do will be fine.

The marketing company of the city of Hanau has set itself the task of distributing exactly such nudges in a well-considered manner.

To creative people, for example, who don't quite dare to open their own shop yet.

The city has been offering the opportunity to open so-called pop-up stores since 2020.

A retail space that would otherwise be empty is made available for a limited time.

Retailers and creatives can try out different concepts – and receive support from the city in different ways.

What was born out of necessity in the fight against vacancies in 2020 is now developing into a successful concept, as our colleague Luise Glaser-Lotz writes.

Because, as the balance of the past year shows, a number of these shops have now established themselves.

The shops planned as pop-up stores have become permanent leases.

It was worth giving the encouraging "initial push" six times,

Learning to talk about mental illness:

It starts at some point in puberty.

The withdrawal from the parents, the isolation.

A process that everyone involved must learn.

But how much withdrawal is normal?

And what if the teenager is completely holed up in his own room, is listless, and even thinks about suicide?

Alix and Oliver Puhl have made the topic of "mental health of children and young people" their life's work.

Her son Emil left her to them.

He took his own life at the age of 16.

The Puhl couple founded the non-profit company Tomoni Mental Health, which is dedicated to prevention work.

Tomoni means "together" in Japanese and includes everyone who has anything to do with young people who may be affected and who can recognize a mental illness - such as relatives, teachers, but also the wider social environment.

In digital training courses, teachers should be able to learn to better assess whether a young person is in a crisis

, which he needs help to overcome.

On the digital platform, they not only learn more about various clinical pictures, but can also gain confidence in talking to affected young people or their parents through exercises.

Our author Matthias Trautsch summarizes what other goals the couple is pursuing with Tomoni.

And in addition

, the contributions from the statutory health insurance funds will not increase as much as expected this year.

Insured persons should nevertheless check their current additional contribution.

Because the insurers will not send out an information letter this year if they increase the costs
