An investigation conducted by the American "Washington Post" newspaper revealed that the police in the United States kill more than a thousand people annually by firing squad in accidents while their elements are working.

The newspaper said that the number of fatal shootings involving the police has increased in recent years, and that the death toll from police shootings in 2022 was the largest ever.

And she highlighted that 1097 people were killed by police bullets in different states during the year 2022, which is the largest number of victims of police bullets in one year.

The Washington Post noted that black and Hispanic Americans are killed at a much higher rate than white Americans in police shootings.

She said that most of the victims in these killings are young men between the ages of 20 and 40, and that the majority of them are males, as the percentage of male deaths exceeded 95% of the total victims.

The Washington Post indicated that its investigation found that 8,102 people have been killed in shootings at the hands of police officers in various US states since 2015.
