The January provisional session of the National Assembly starts tomorrow (9th).

The Democratic Party took an offensive to ask about the North Korean drone invasion, but the people's power refuted that it was not the Bulletproof National Assembly represented by Lee Jae-myung.

The first high-ranking party-government council of the new year.

In his second year in power, the President's office requested bipartisan cooperation from the opposition parties, saying that the foundation for reform tasks should be laid and preparations for a worsening economic situation should be made.

[Kim Dae-gi/Chief of Presidential Secretary: Of the 110 bills proposed by the government, 95 have yet to pass.

I earnestly ask for bipartisan cooperation from the opposition party.]

It pointed out that most of the bills that the government said it would promote as top priority, such as the Long-term Public Rental Housing Act, the Stalking Crime Punishment Act, and the Child Allowance Act, are pending.

However, ahead of the extraordinary National Assembly that starts tomorrow, the war of nerves between the ruling and opposition parties over pending political issues, such as the invasion of North Korean drones, is escalating.

The opposition party is pushing for an urgent inquiry into pending issues against the defense minister and others at the plenary session, eager to hold accountability for the North Korean drone incident.

[Park Seong-jun/Democratic Party Spokesperson: Are there more pressing issues than security and economy?

Are you properly aware of the security crisis facing the Republic of Korea and taking countermeasures?]

The ruling party is in the position that it is inappropriate to openly discuss defense secrets at the plenary session, and that it is sufficient to ask pending issues at the standing committee level.

Jeong Jin-seok, chairman of the People's Power Brigade, criticized the opposition party, saying, "It is not the time for the opposition party to rush to subdue the president and the government over the tracks of several North Korean reconnaissance drones."

The ruling party continued to claim that the provisional assembly in January was a bulletproof assembly for Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, who is about to be summoned by the prosecution.

It seems that the January National Assembly, which will be held for 30 days at the request of the Democratic Party for a single convocation, will not be easy to have a productive discussion due to the controversy over the North Korean drone responsible and the bulletproof National Assembly.
