Kuwait calls for a speedy investigation into an attack on Kuwaiti students in Egypt

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait's strong resentment and rejection when some Egyptian security men beat up some Kuwaiti students studying in the city of Alexandria.

The ministry said, in a statement today, Sunday, reported by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that "as part of its follow-up to the quarrel that occurred at dawn yesterday, Saturday, between a number of Kuwaiti students studying in the city of Alexandria, in one of the commercial complexes in the city, all of whom were released yesterday afternoon." The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi, communicated with the Egyptian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Osama Shaltout, to find out about the measures taken by the Egyptian authorities regarding the assault of some security men on some students. some students."

The statement added, "The Deputy Minister demanded quickly that the concerned Egyptian authorities, in a way that guarantees the students' rights, take official and legal measures, investigate this incident regarding this attack, hold its perpetrators accountable, and take the necessary and deterrent measures for these rejected individual behaviors that do not reflect the symbolism of brotherly relations between the State of Kuwait and the sister Republic of Egypt." .

He stated that "the deputy minister informed the Egyptian ambassador that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Cairo, will follow up on the measures that the Egyptian authorities will take in this regard."
