German police have arrested an Iranian citizen who is suspected of preparing an
Islamist-motivated attack
, in Castrop-Rauxel, in the west of the country.
The 32-year-old man
had managed to obtain various dangerous chemical and biological substances, cyanide and ricin
, to prepare the attack, the Düsseldorf prosecutor's office reported this Sunday.
It is not clear how far along the plans were or whether a specific target for the attack had been determined.
Due to the danger derived from the substances that the suspect had, the police had the collaboration of a representative of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) of virology, according to a report in the

The regional police also had support from the Federal Criminal Office (BKA) and a bomb squad.
