The United States announced new large military aid to Ukraine estimated at more than $3 billion, which includes, in particular, 50 Bradley armored vehicles and dozens of other vehicles.

The new tranche, which consists of weapons worth $2.85 billion from the US army's stockpile and $225 million in orders from the defense industry, does not include attack tanks that Kyiv is asking the West to supply, but it will enhance the mobility capabilities of the Ukrainian forces.

"This is the highest tranche of military aid in terms of the total value that we have pledged to date," said Laura Cooper, the official in charge of Russia affairs at the US Department of Defense.

It includes in particular 50 M2A2 Bradley armored vehicles, equipped with a 25 mm cannon and an anti-tank missile launcher, and can carry six fighters, in addition to the crew.

These armored vehicles are also capable of firing Javelin anti-tank missiles, which were widely used by the Ukrainians at the beginning of the conflict against Russia.

"The Bradley vehicles will enhance Ukraine's ability to conduct complex maneuvers in nearly all weather conditions and on all terrains, particularly in the south and east of the country," Cooper said.

The new aid also includes 100 M113 armored personnel carriers, 55 MRAP mine-resistant armored vehicles and 18 howitzers, in addition to artillery bombs, mortars, air defense missiles and pistols.
