Two people were killed following the collapse of the roof of a residential building in Alexandria, Egypt

The roof of a three-storey apartment building collapsed early Saturday morning in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, killing at least two people, the official Egyptian News Agency reported.

The Middle East News Agency "MENA" stated that another person was injured in the accident, which took place in the Al-Gomrok neighborhood in Alexandria.

It was not immediately clear what caused the collapse.

The agency's report quoted an unnamed civil defense source as saying that the victims were in a workshop for the maintenance of electronic devices in the building when the roof collapsed.
