Xinhua News Agency, Islamabad, January 7 (Reporter Jiang Chao) Pakistani Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif said on the 6th that Pakistan thanked the Chinese government and enterprises for their great help to the people in the disaster-stricken areas after the floods in Pakistan.

  On the same day, Shabaz attended the donation ceremony of China Energy Construction Group (hereinafter referred to as "CEEC") to the Pakistani Prime Minister's Flood Fighting and Disaster Relief Fund at the Prime Minister's Office in the capital Islamabad.

He said that Pakistan is grateful for China's long-term help and support, and thanks Chinese companies for their long-term active fulfillment of social responsibilities in Pakistan, especially for the great help provided to the people in the disaster-stricken areas since Pakistan was hit by severe floods last year.

  Shabaz also said that the construction of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor has brought benefits to the Pakistani people, and Chinese companies have made outstanding contributions to the construction of various fields such as energy and infrastructure in Pakistan.

Pakistan welcomes Chinese companies to actively participate in the investment and construction of new energy, especially photovoltaic energy.

Pakistan Branch, said that Energy China has always cared about the development of the local society in Pakistan, and will continue to help people in the disaster-stricken areas carry out post-disaster recovery and reconstruction work.

  According to data from Pakistan's National Disaster Management Agency, since mid-June last year, various disasters caused by heavy rainfall in Pakistan have caused at least 1,739 deaths and more than 12,800 injuries.
