Sébastien Cibois, substitute goalkeeper for Rodez, stopped the sixth Monegasque shot on goal, that of the young Soungoutou Magassa.

He thus allowed Andy Pembélé to register that of a deserved qualification, while Alexander Golovin had, during this session, the possibility of qualifying Monaco at 4-4.

But he hit above.

If Cibois was excellent during the match in front of the attempts of Maghnes Akliouche (51st) then Takumi Minamino (54th) and ensured his team, then trailing 2-1, to stay in the game, Didier Santini's men also created many opportunities to equalize, by Abdennour (60th) and Pembélé (70th).

Finally, the former Monegasque Tunisian central defender Aymen Abdennour offered the Aveyronnais the penalty shootout, after his header equalized during a one-sided end to the match (2-2, 80th).

Philippe Clement, the Monegasque coach, had decided to rotate.

Apart from Axel Disasi, or even Wissam Ben Yedder, currently downgraded, the strong men of Monaco were not aligned from the start.

This did not prevent Monaco from leading 2-0 (Akliouche 23rd, Ben Yedder 38th), before sinking after Joseph Mendez's goal just before the break (2-1, 42nd).
