A 6-year-old boy fired a gun at an elementary school in the southern state of Virginia on the 6th, leaving a female teacher in critical condition.

The local police are detaining the boy and investigating the motive and how to get the gun in detail.

Police were notified that a gunshot had been fired at an elementary school in Newport News, Virginia, USA around 2:00 pm on the 6th, around 4:00 am on the 7th Japan time.



According to the police, the shooting took place in a first grade classroom, and a 6-year-old boy had a gun and fired one shot at a female teacher in her 30s.



The female teacher was in critical condition and the male child was restrained on the spot.



So far, no other children have been injured.



Her mother, who said she had come to pick up her child after the incident, said, "I thought her heart would stop. I panicked and thought that one of the injured people was my son." was



The police explained that it was not an accidental incident, and are investigating the motive and how the gun was obtained.
