A man in India who had to leave his beloved wife due to Corona 19 is becoming a hot topic by making a silicone doll that resembles his deceased wife.

On the 5th local time, Times of India, SCMP, and other foreign media reported the story of Tapas Sandilia (65), an Indian man who is living with his deceased wife by making a doll that looks just like her.

Sandilia, who was heartbroken at not being able to attend the deathbed of her wife Indrani, who died of Corona 19 in May of last year, accidentally recalled a conversation she had with her wife 10 years ago.

In the past, when the couple visited a temple during their travels, his wife, Indrani, admired her statue and said, "If I die before you, she will make a statue of her in her own image."

Accordingly, Sandilia decided to embody the image of her deceased wife, and despite family objections, found sculptor Subimal Das (46) and commissioned the work.

Having primarily made silicone replicas for museums, Das began making silicone dolls in the likeness of Indrani.

Das said, "After collecting Indrani's face photos, I first made a model with clay, and then did basic work with fibers and silicone."

He also worked with his husband, Sandilia, when creating the detailed expressions on Indrani's face.

After a long time of more than six months, Indrani's silicone doll weighed about 30 kg and cost a total of 2.5 million rupees (about 38 million Korean won) to make.

Currently, the doll is known to be placed on the sofa in the living room, adorned with gold jewelry and clothes worn by Indrani during her lifetime.

Her husband, Sandilia, said, "I granted her wife's wishes in her lifetime, and this doll gives me the feeling that her wife is always with me."
