China, which has opened its closed door, is about to abolish quarantine for people entering China from other countries.

Officially, it is from the day after tomorrow (8th), but there are some places that have been released in advance, which is causing confusion.

A scuffle breaks out between passengers arriving at a Chinese airport from abroad and quarantine agents.

[International entrants arriving at the airport in China: The country has already opened the door, got off the plane and received a PCR test. Why do I have to go to the quarantine facility?]

Officially, the quarantine policy for entrants will be abolished from the day after tomorrow, but many returnees have already refused to be transferred to the quarantine facility. You're doing it.

[Entrant: Do not quarantine!

Do not quarantine!]

As protests intensified, some areas began to abolish quarantine in advance.

On the other hand, there are places that adhere to the existing regulations for 5 days of facility quarantine and 3 additional days of self-isolation.

[International entrants during quarantine: The 5-day quarantine has already ended, so why can't I go out?

Why are you violating my freedom?

(The new policy applies from January 8th.)]

The return policy ahead of Chinese New Year and Spring Festival is also confusing.

As the central government has not issued guidelines to refrain from moving for the first time in three years, a massive movement of 2 billion people is expected.

However, in some rural areas, the returnees caused controversy by guiding them not to return as much as possible, saying that the mutant virus could spread to local residents.

Unconfirmed rumors are also adding to the confusion.

In Shanghai, crematoriums are full, so there are even rumors that two bodies are cremated at the same time, or that residents cremate the bodies in apartment parking lots.

The authorities explained that it was all untrue and that the remains of the deceased were burned outdoors.

The Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China issued a kind of reporting guideline to media outlets to intensively promote the achievements of the quarantine policy, which is interpreted as an intention to block public sentiment ahead of the holiday.
