The newspaper writes that last year the Kazakh side spoke in favor of finding alternative routes for oil supplies from Kazakhstan against the backdrop of the geopolitical situation and the situation around the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

Kazakhstan will need many years and multibillion-dollar investments to provide new routes for oil supplies, the publication believes.

The article says that Kazakh oilmen "generally have no profitable alternatives" to transit through Russia.

In September, the State Department reported that the United States was taking an active part in discussing the possibilities of transporting Kazakhstan's oil to world markets through the Caspian Sea.
