A resident of Laurac, a small village in Aude, died on Thursday after his son shot him at close range.

The shot went off during a family dispute.
The victim, aged 65, died half an hour after the shot despite the arrival of help.
The alleged shooter, who fled, was found by the gendarmes in the neighboring town of Villasavary: he was unresponsive in his car after having probably turned his weapon against him.
According to the regional daily, the father and son had been angry "for many years, following a dispute over an inheritance and since the separation of the parents".
The son was transported in serious condition by helicopter to the Toulouse University Hospital.
