France has had the hottest year on record since records began, Météo France said on Friday.

The year 2022 is indeed the hottest ever recorded in mainland France, with 14.5 degrees of average annual temperature, confirmed Friday Météo-France, which qualifies this record as a "symptom of climate change".

“2022 ranks first” since the start of the readings in 1900, “very far ahead of 2020 which held the record until now”, with 14.07°C, specifies Météo France.
