Angers offered themselves a breath of fresh air by eliminating Strasbourg on penalties in the only clash between elite clubs.

Solid leader of the first division championship, Paris SG, had difficulty in enforcing its rank in Châteauroux (3-1), despite the absence of its MNM put to rest against the formation of National.

Montpellier, who had also bet on their substitutes, had less luck against Pau (2-1).

As soon as they entered, the Héraultais were already out, thus confirming the painful season of the 14th in L1 which trails four short lengths from the relegation zone.

In the match between the bottom two of the Ligue 1 classification, it was the red lantern, Angers, who offered themselves a breath of fresh air on the lawn of Strasbourg (19th), winning in Alsace on shots on goal (0-0, 5-4 pens).

The 32nd finals of the Coupe de France continue on Saturday with three confrontations between L1 and L2 clubs.

Lyon welcomes Metz, Monaco receives Rodez, while Rennes goes to challenge Bordeaux.

They will end on Sunday with a clash between Ligue 1 clubs where Lille will host Troyes (8:45 p.m.).
