10 wounded in a shooting near Miami

At least 10 people were injured in a shooting outside Miami during the filming of a music video by Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, police and US media said Friday.

The shooting took place Thursday night in Miami Gardens, about 30 kilometers north of Miami, Florida, local police said in a statement.

"We were informed that a number of victims were injured," the source said, adding that they were taken to local hospitals.

The Miami Herald reported that the incident occurred after a fight between two groups.

Rapper Sid Mogul told NBC6 that he heard gunshots, which he estimated were "at least 13, 14 or 15. They were very fast, like an assault rifle."

Police have not yet released the identities of the victims or released additional details.

According to the Miami Herald, six injured people were taken to hospital, while four went to a medical center on their own.

French Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, was born in Morocco and immigrated to New York with his parents when he was a teenager.
