Actress Tarane Alidusti, who was arrested for supporting anti-government protests in Iran, has been released on bail after three weeks.

Ali Dousti posted a picture of her with her long hair hanging down on social media, taking off her hijab, as a sign of solidarity with the anti-government protests sparked by the 'hijab questionable death' in September last year.

On the 8th of last month, when a protester was executed, she appealed for her participation in the protest, saying, "Your silence means support for oppression and dictatorship."

In response to the news of Alidusti's release, the Cannes Film Festival said on its official Twitter account that it was "fortunate and happy" and "please continue to pay attention to Iran."
