The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Wednesday, that the death toll from a Ukrainian missile strike targeting a Russian military center in the city of Makivka, which is controlled by Russian forces in eastern Ukraine, on New Year's Eve, has risen to 89.

"The death toll rose to 89 after more bodies were found under the rubble," ministry spokesman Lieutenant-General Sergei Severyukov said in a video recording.
