This opinion was expressed by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

She recalled that many countries declare their readiness to participate in the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, some offer their mediation services.

“Some are doing it sincerely, others are pursuing their own selfish goals, trying to wedge themselves into the negotiation process in order to receive foreign policy dividends,” Zakharova said, her words are quoted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier it became known that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to hold talks on January 4 with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.

Erdogan said in December that the West was not trying to mediate the crisis in Ukraine.
