The EU's crisis management mechanism IPCR "strongly urges" all EU countries to introduce requirements for corona tests for travelers from China.

It became clear at a meeting on Wednesday evening.

A majority of EU countries are in favor of the introduction of covid tests for travelers from China.

However, what the tests will look like has not yet been decided.

Countries outside the EU have also introduced or will introduce restrictions, including Japan and the USA.

"Ironically"

China, for its part, believes that the restrictions are unacceptable and threatens countermeasures.

- I find it difficult to see what the countermeasures would be.

A negative PCR test and quarantine are already required to enter China.

That they protest against the EU's restrictions is therefore ironic, says Kristina Sandklef, an independent China analyst with a background as, among other things, a security policy analyst at the Swedish Armed Forces.

In the clip above, she explains about China's reaction to the restrictions.
