Each new year has its share of good resolutions.

What if you decided to set yourself ecological objectives in 2023?

On the program "Bienfait pour vous", Perrine Brami, green columnist, spoke about three simple and good gestures for the planet to respect in this new year.

Getting back into sport, quitting smoking, losing weight… These are the good resolutions, within individual reach, that many French people take for the new year.

There are also good ecological resolutions that are excellent for our health, and also for the planet.

In the program

Bienfait pour vous

, Perrine Brami, green columnist, lists her three good actions to adopt in 2023 for the environment.

Reduce your meat consumption

To reduce your personal carbon footprint, the first good resolution is to reduce your meat consumption.

On average, the French eat it between five and six times a week, all meats combined with the exception of charcuterie.

"Reducing its consumption means less pesticides and deforestation to produce the cereals that feed the animals, and less methane emitted by the animals", explains the columnist with Julia Vignali and Mélanie Gomez.

Methane is a gas that produces significant amounts of carbon dioxide.

For those who eat meat almost at every meal, "the little trick is to start by saying to yourself, 'I only eat meat in the evening or only on weekends'", says the columnist.

"For those who already have a reduced consumption, it may be right (to consume meat) outside the home, for example in the restaurant or in the canteen", adds Perrine Brami, who also evokes the idea of a vegetarian meal per week.

Get on a bike

Moving your body a little more is also a good resolution that benefits the planet.

The columnist of

Bienfait pour vous

takes the example of the bicycle.

"We pollute less than by car, and it's also more efficient: we save time," she recalls, based on a study by Ademe.

It is therefore a good idea to buy a second-hand bicycle, or to take out a self-service bicycle subscription to get to work.

Employees who live further away and who are forced to take their car can also think about carpooling with one of their colleagues, or someone who makes the same journey, notes the columnist.

The three questions to ask yourself before buying an item

Finally, after the excesses of the end-of-year celebrations, many French people want to consume less.

It is also a good ecological resolution to take in 2023, supports Perrine Brami.

"A little trick before buying something is to ask yourself three questions," says the green columnist.

First, "am I going to use it at least 30 times?".

This can work in the case of a garment for example.

Second question: "Is this product that appeals to me, can I rather rent it or borrow it?".

A question that may apply if you want to buy a drill driver.

Finally, the last question to ask is "Can I replace this product with something more responsible?" Says Perrine Brami, highlighting second-hand items or items made with more eco-responsible materials.

"If you can answer 'yes' to these three questions, you will consume much less", promises the columnist of
