For several reasons, it is difficult for small municipalities to do something about houses that are standing and falling into disrepair.

In 2015, the Housing Authority submitted a report on the abandoned house problem and according to representatives of Norsjö municipality, nothing has happened since then.

But now the Ministry of Finance has a small opening in the works.

- We are working on a new assignment for the Housing Agency, which means that the authority will be able to make further and deeper analyzes based on some of the proposals in the investigation that was made a few years ago, says ministry secretary Ludvig Lundgren.

The issue is raised in the Riksdag

This involves, among other things, reviewing the municipalities' conditions for starting and paying for an inspection case and recommending measures to property owners.

- I also think that it will be relevant to further investigate the possibilities for some form of support to equalize the different conditions that the municipalities have, he says.

The issue will now also be raised in the Riksdag.

The Christian Democrat Gudrun Brunegård writes about the problems in an interpellation.

She wonders what Housing Minister Per Bolund (Mp) has planned to do about it.

In the clip, Norsjö municipality's construction and environment manager talks about the problem.
