The Raid's elite unit intervened on the night of Monday to Tuesday in Avignon (Vaucluse), in the city of Saint-Chamand.

An armed man had taken refuge in his home, reports

Le Dauphiné Libéré

.

Around 4:30 a.m., the individual allegedly attacked the man he was hosting.

Hit in the head with the butt of a weapon, the victim was taken care of.

A 15-day ITT was issued to him but it could change given his condition.

A submachine gun found at the scene

The madman having been described as over-excited and possessing weapons, the Raid was therefore mobilized.

The 32-year-old man was finally arrested without resistance and then placed in police custody, specifies La Provence.

A machine gun was found on the balcony of the apartment.

Known to the police, the madman was released from prison on December 19.

He must be presented in immediate appearance this Wednesday but his trial should be postponed.
