This came during a ceremony held by the Abu Dhabi Embassy in Tel Aviv yesterday, Thursday, on the occasion of the UAE National Day, and Israeli media reported that the leader of the "Jewish Power" party, Itamar Ben Gvir, shook hands with the ambassador during the ceremony, which was also attended by Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu.

Bin Ghafir said - in a tweet on Twitter - "I feel happy to participate in the ceremony held by the Emirati ambassador."

"This is what real peace looks like," he added.

For his part, Al Khaja said, "The UAE is here to show that unity means prosperity," pledging to continue "using diplomacy to strengthen relations through friendship and mutual respect," he said.

Last week, Netanyahu agreed to give Ben Gvir the national security portfolio within the framework of the government he seeks to form after being commissioned by Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

Last Sunday, Ben Gvir called for changing the shooting regulations in the West Bank to include shooting anyone carrying stones or Molotov cocktails.
