The new head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that he discussed relations between the two countries with Lavrov

According to Cohen, Lavrov called him and congratulated him on taking office as head of the Israeli foreign ministry. 

The ministers discussed issues related to the bilateral and regional agenda.

Earlier, Cohen said that he plans to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, January 3.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Moscow is counting on the fact that the government of Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel will contribute to the development of traditional partnerships with Russia.
