Norma Lucía Piña was on the front page of all the Mexican press on Tuesday.

For

El Universal

or even

Milenio

, she broke “

 the glass ceiling

 ”.

Words spoken by the magistrate herself in her first speech as President of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJN).

Norma Lucía Piña declares that she will represent all women.

It is even, according to her, what will give her the strength to do her job.

I feel accompanied, supported, supported by all the women, by each of us.

I feel very strong because I know that we are all here, that we are standing for the first time in the heart of this plenary court.

We demonstrate and we prove to ourselves that we can do it.

Appointed to the Supreme Court in 2015, Norma Lucía Piña has been committed to women's rights in the past, including defending the right to abortion.

In her speech, she also paid tribute to "

those who are no longer there

", in reference to the victims of gender violence.

A plague, in Mexico, against which she promised to fight.
