He started the year off with a bang.

A little too much.

Sunday evening, on the Toulouse ring road, a 27-year-old driver decided to test the engine of his large-displacement sedan.

Zigzagging through the lines of cars, foot to the floor, he went up to 200 km / h on this road axis where the speed is limited to 90 km / h.

Until he saw a blue beacon light up in his rearview mirror.

The driver had just overtaken an unmarked car from the anti-crime brigade which was traveling on the ring road at the time.

Refusing to stop, the man was pursued by the police who called for reinforcements to stop the individual in the town of Tournefeuille.

A dam was thus equipped with a harrow in order to stop the motorist who, at the last moment, decided to brake.

But he refused to get out of his vehicle, prompting the police to extract him.

Arrested, he was taken into custody.

The driver was left free, the preliminary investigation continuing with a view to a subsequent criminal response, indicates a police source.
