The Civil Guard, within the framework of the Cardador operation, has managed to arrest

JMV in the municipality of

Umbrete

(Seville)

, known as

El Lana

and considered "the leader of the most important and violent hashish drug trafficking organization" that operated in Andalusia, mainly, in the Guadalquivir river area when I was going to celebrate New Year's Eve.

The now detained, 32-year-old, had been investigated in different actions carried out by the agents of the Armed Institute in recent years, highlighting the

operations Cansino and Llorón

, developed in 2018-2019 and whose execution allowed the intervention, among others, of more than 10 tons of hashish, 2 kg of cocaine, 10

go-fast

type inflatable boats and numerous firearms (kalashnikov war rifles, pistols and revolvers), as well as a large number of stolen vehicles.

In search and capture since 2018, he had numerous records for drug trafficking and three injunctions in force for search, detention and appearance by the

Courts of Coria del Río (Seville), Seville and Cádiz

, for which reason once brought to justice He has entered prison by order of

Court number 8 of Seville

.

The Cardador operation, which ended with the arrest of El Lana shortly before the New Year's Eve bells, has been directed by the Regional Center for Analysis and Intelligence against Drug Trafficking (CRAIN) and has had the support of civil guards from the Unit Organization of the Judicial Police of the Seville Command, of the Judicial Police Unit of the Andalusian Zone and of the Rapid Action Group (GAR).

This drug trafficker "is a violent and very meticulous person, who adopts numerous security measures both to commit criminal acts and in his personal life", they have specified from the

Civil Guard

, whose investigations pointed - as has been confirmed later - that this subject "could return to the town of Seville to spend New Year's Eve with his family".

Faced with this possibility, during the days before New Year's Eve, a surveillance device was established in different areas of Seville's

Aljarafe

in order to locate the place of the meeting that El Lana was expected to attend in order to stop it.

As a result of the investigations of the Civil Guard agents, it was finally possible to locate the place of the New Year's Eve meeting in a chalet frequented by the family of the fugitive in Umbrete.

The device organized for the same night of December 31 in the vicinity of the house in question made it possible to confirm, that same afternoon, the presence of El Lana in the place.

It should be noted, they explain from the Armed Institute, that on the occasions when the detainee left the house he took important security measures and even had his head covered to make it difficult to recognize him.

The agents who were deployed in the area took advantage of one of these exits to surprise him and quickly proceed to his arrest.

After it, they verified that he was carrying a pistol and false documentation with him.

The Civil Guard investigation units had spent years collecting information on the possible whereabouts of El Lana, about which it was known that, in addition to false documentation and using encrypted communication systems, he had been changing his residence on a recurring basis and moving from one city to another to avoid being arrested.
