China News Service, Beijing, January 3 (Reporter Huang Yuqin) Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference on the 3rd.

A reporter asked: Recently, China announced that it will implement Class B and B controls on the new coronavirus infection, and introduced temporary measures for the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel.

Many countries welcome this, but some countries have begun to take temporary epidemic prevention measures for passengers from China in the past few days, including post-entry testing and isolation of positive people.

What is China's comment?

Mao Ning: After China released the interim measures on the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel, many countries responded enthusiastically.

We appreciate this, and will continue to optimize and adjust prevention and control measures in response to the epidemic situation, so as to create better conditions for the safe, healthy and orderly exchanges of Chinese and foreign personnel, and better guarantee foreign exchanges and cooperation.

Regarding the issue of temporary epidemic prevention measures for Chinese tourists, I have already responded to the press conference a few days ago.

I would like to express China's attitude again.

We are willing to strengthen communication with the international community and work together to overcome the epidemic. At the same time, we also believe that some countries have no scientific basis for restricting entry to China, and some excessive practices are even more unacceptable.

We firmly oppose the practice of manipulating epidemic prevention and control measures to achieve political goals, and will take corresponding measures in accordance with the principle of reciprocity according to different situations.

Another reporter asked: Recently, everyone has paid close attention to the communication between China and the international community on the new crown virus infection.

The World Health Organization also announced that the Chinese competent authority has communicated with the World Health Organization on this issue.

Can the spokesperson please brief us on the relevant situation?

Mao Ning: Since the outbreak of the epidemic, China has actively participated in international anti-epidemic cooperation and worked with the international community to respond to the challenges of the epidemic as soon as possible.

In response to the new changes in the epidemic situation and the new situation facing the fight against the epidemic, the Chinese competent authorities have released information in a timely, open and transparent manner according to law, and shared the virus genetic data of recent cases of new coronavirus infection in China through the global influenza sharing database.

A few days ago, the Chinese competent authority and the WHO held a special video conference. The two sides exchanged views on the current epidemic situation, medical treatment, vaccination and other technical issues, and agreed to continue technical exchanges to help the world end the epidemic as soon as possible.

We have noticed that health experts from many countries have recently stated that the current strain of the novel coronavirus in China has already spread to other parts of the world, and new strains may appear anywhere, so there is no need to impose special entry restrictions on China.

China always believes that the epidemic prevention measures of various countries should be scientific and appropriate, and should not take the opportunity to engage in political manipulation, should not have discriminatory practices, and should not affect normal personnel exchanges, exchanges and cooperation.
